Galicia Forest

Forest repopulation project covering 200.52 hectares located in the Community of Montes Vecinales en Mano Común de Couso in the Concello de Avión, located in Orense (Galicia). This reforestation project aims to achieve the ecological restoration of the area, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change by capturing and storing carbon. The new forest mass will play a crucial role in protecting the soil and regulating water resources, minimizing erosion, and enriching the soil with nutrients. Additionally, the establishment of this mass will foster the colonization of the area by a large number of native flora and fauna species. The mix of species used in the repopulation will break the horizontal continuity of the canopy typical of a plantation, which is often responsible for the spread of fire.
