PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In addition to creating a forest ecosystem capable of absorbing CO, thus reducing atmospheric pollution, the creation of this forest is intended to protect the soil by creating a sustainable forest cover and provide shelter to a large number of wild plants and animals.

Reforestation project of 26.18 hectares located in the Community of Montes Vecinales in Mano Común de Vilar in the municipality of Cerdedo Cotobade, Pontevedra (Galicia).

This action will provide a wide variety of ecosystem services to the area such as the supply of raw materials, the regulation of the water cycle, the protection of the soil, the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, the richness of animal and plant species as well as as well as the different leisure options that the area will offer.

The main species used is Pinus radiata. In addition, a perimeter band of native hardwoods has been introduced in order to break the horizontal continuity, acting as a natural firewall in the event of a fire.
