Is it mandatory to measure the carbon footprint?
One of the goals set by the government to achieve climate neutrality is to reduce greenhouse gases by at least 23% compared to 1990 levels. Consequently, in 2023, calculating and publishing the carbon footprint will become mandatory for many companies. This initiative aims to ensure that organizations are informed about their actions in combating climate change to meet the targets set by the European Commission.
Plan to offset business activity
In the fight against climate change, the first step is to commit to ESG policies. Companies must calculate their carbon footprint and work on a Reduction Plan, in addition to increasing CO2 absorption.
First, to calculate the carbon footprint generated by the company, data on the company’s activity and emission factors must be known. At CO2Revolution, we provide you with a report that will help you make better decisions in your sustainability strategy. You can register the report with MITERD to obtain the “Calculate” seal.
To reduce the climate impact caused by the company’s activities, the main goal is to become carbon neutral. This means that you must offset your carbon footprint through CO2 absorption projects. Some initiatives for this include purchasing carbon credits, investing in reforestation projects, and using renewable energies.
Actions to offset the carbon footprint
At CO2Revolution, we support you throughout the entire process. To facilitate this effort and help your company become carbon neutral, we offer two actions:
- Purchase of CO2 credits
- Creation of corporate forests
Both projects are registered with the MITERD and you will be able to obtain your own certification endorsed by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge that allows you to communicate and value the eco-responsible commitment of your company in the face of policies to combat climate change. both internally and externally.
