PROJECT

San Isidro

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Creation of a forest ecosystem capable of absorbing CO2, thus combating global warming, protecting the soil by creating sustainable forest cover, and restoring the area's biodiversity and wildlife habitats.

Forest repopulation project of 19.67 hectares located in the Comunidad de Montes Vecinales en Mano Común de San Isidro in the Concello de Campo Lameiro, Pontevedra (Galicia).

This repopulation project, in addition to ensuring the sustainable production of wood to meet industry demand, provides significant environmental benefits that facilitate the recovery of degraded areas and help counteract the effects of climate change.

The project also generates substantial socioeconomic benefits for the local community.

The species used in the forest repopulation is Pinus radiata, which is fast-growing and adapted to the climatic conditions of this region. This plant quickly accumulates a large amount of organic matter and nutrients in the soil.
