High temperatures are an indicator of the need to act in the face of this climate crisis that threatens the health of the planet. Millions of people are falling victim to weather phenomena resulting from climate change.<\/a> Faced with this global emergency, measures must be taken to steer the planet towards a sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green transition: towards a sustainable development model<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The green transition encompasses all measures and strategies in the political, economic, and social spheres aimed at advancing towards a sustainable development model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The set of political initiatives included in the European Union’s strategy to achieve the goal of climate neutrality is known as the Green Deal. To achieve this goal, EU states have committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 in compliance with the commitments established in the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paris Agreement<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The major commitment to decarbonize the economy and society globally is the Paris Agreement. It is an internationally binding treaty adopted in 2015 on climate change. The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions to limit global warming to below 2\u00b0C compared to pre-Industrial Revolution levels. Through this policy, the EU and its Member States commit to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% from 1990 levels by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the EU and Latin America reinforce their alliance with the launch of the Euroclima project in the Caribbean, a climate action aimed at promoting the green and just transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
