This area is located in the Comunidad de Montes Vecinales en Mano Com\u00fan de Couso, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concelloavion.org\/es\/\">Concello de Avi\u00f3n<\/a>, province of Ourense, Galicia. The main objective of this ambitious reforestation project is the ecological restoration of the area. In this way, it seeks to mitigate the effects of climate change by capturing and storing carbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The creation of a new forest mass will play a crucial role in protecting the soil. One of the main advantages is the reduction of the risk of water erosion, a common problem in degraded forest areas. By improving soil infiltration conditions, a more balanced hydrological cycle is promoted and the available nutrients in the soil are increased, which benefits plants and ecosystem organisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, reforestation will facilitate the colonisation of the area by a wide variety of native flora and fauna.
