Silvoso B Reforestation Project spans 20.42 hectares located in the Community of Montes Vecinales en Mano Com\u00fan of Silvoso, within the municipality of Ponte Caldelas<\/a>, province of Pontevedra (Galicia). Designed to restore a forest mass devastated by fire, this project addresses an area that has struggled to recover naturally without human intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By accelerating the forest recovery process, Silvoso B Project aims to promote the proliferation of native species. This restoration plays a key role in regulating the water cycle and improving soil quality, creating an optimal environment for new plant growth and supporting local fauna. Restoring the affected area is essential for conserving biodiversity and fostering a more resilient ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A strategic selection of species has been made for the project, including Pinus pinaster subsp. atlantica<\/em><\/strong>, a fast-growing native conifer, and a mix of native broadleaves. Chosen for its rapid growth and adaptability to local climate conditions, Pinus pinaster<\/em><\/strong> accelerates the accumulation of organic matter and nutrients in the soil. The inclusion of native hardwoods enhances local biodiversity while also acting as a natural fire barrier, reducing the risk of future fires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This reforestation project at Silvoso B serves as a prime example of how reforestation efforts can yield significant environmental benefits.
