This afforestation project covers an area of 5.83 hectares located in the town of Albentosa<\/a>, in the province of Teruel (Aragon).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main objective of this reforestation project is to promote the establishment of a sustainable forest stand to effectively mitigate the adverse effects of climate change in an area characterised by a lack of vegetation and degradation due to intense erosive processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The implementation of this forest mass in Albentosa is crucial for the regulation of water resources, as it helps to minimise the risk of erosion and provides nutrients to the soil. It is a mixed multi-species plantation, composed of native coniferous and broadleaf species adapted to the season that form a resilient mass against possible environmental disturbances. The main species selected is Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis<\/em>) due to its great capacity to colonise degraded land. This species is complemented by other varieties of native trees which, together, will contribute to the biodiversity and stability of the ecosystem. The selection of species has been meticulously planned to ensure a high survival and adaptation rate.
