CO2 Revolution, award winning company accelerating sustainable economy by contributing to SDGs
Following COP27, companies and public bodies are taking stock to analyze the evolution of their sustainability initiatives. Particularly, efforts are focused on the final stretch of this year, which marks the seventh anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals, which, according to the UN Pacto Mundial in Spain, seeks innovation to achieve the 2030 Agenda aimed at new sustainable business models.
The report “ODS, Year 7” prepared by the organization Global Compact Spanish Network with the purpose of evaluating the commitment of Spanish companies to adopt ESG strategies points out that “only 16% of the companies develop all their innovations favoring those approaches for the promotion of sustainability”. Within this group, CO2 Revolution stands out for its absolute dedication to the achievement of SDG 13 and 15 “Climate action” and “Life of terrestrial ecosystems” respectively.
Thanks to its commitment to innovation, CO2 Revolution has been recognized on several occasions as one of the best actions of commitment to sustainability. Last October it received an award for its revolutionary reforestation methods at the SustainabilityDay22 gala, organized by CompromisoRSE and Equipos&Talento. In addition, in 2020 the company received an award at the Expansion Startup Awards in the environment and energy category. Likewise, in 2019 it won the title of Revelation Company in the III edition of the Business Awards organized by the Vocento multimedia group.
Since its foundation in 2018, the startup has been reaping success and working with large companies such as Santander, Iberdrola, Deloitte, Ibercaja Springfield or ALSA. Together with them, it has collaborated in different initiatives, forming part of their sustainability routes and bringing them closer to their ESG objectives. In this sense, during the XX Environment and Sustainable Development Conference, organized by Madridiario on November 28th, ALSA’s Director of Institutional Relations, Ignacio Pérez Carasa, mentioned the “ALSA Forest“, a project developed in collaboration with CO2 Revolution, as part of the company’s roadmap to achieve emission neutrality.
In addition to working with private entities, CO2 Revolution has received support from the public administration on several occasions. In 2021 it was the beneficiary of a grant for innovative technology-based companies from the NEOTEC program managed by the CDTI, an agency under the Ministry of Science and Innovation. It was also selected by ICEX to participate in the DESAFIA San Francisco internationalization project and expose its business model in the technological ecosystem of Silicon Valley.
Likewise, in 2019 the company was chosen as one of the 100 best startups in the world, according to South Summit, the leading platform for innovation and sustainability. On the other hand, the analysis of the Coordenadas Institute of Governance and Applied Economics placed CO2 Revolution in first place in the category of innovation and environmental commitment. The institution assured that CO2 Revolution is “radically changing the reforestation model and generating a positive impact on a large scale, both environmentally and socially” thanks to its technology.
