Project Description
Rointe joins CO2 Revolution in the creation of a Forest in Galicia
The province of Pontevedra has been severely punished on multiple occasions due to fires. Specifically, the region of Borela, was devastated by fire in 2006, 2016 and 2017. The last one burned 30 hectares and affected thousands of families. Now, CO2 Revolution is joining forces with the Rointe company to reforest these lands and recover the lost forest mass.
The Rointe Forest has taken shape thanks to the planting of more than 300 plant species, including trees, but also shrubs and grasses. Thus, the variety of species and the selection of native plants allow the generation of biodiversity on the reforested land. This forest will be composed of pines, cedars, willows and birches, which are trees native to northern Spain.
In addition, with the innovative CO2 Revolution method that combines manual planting techniques with highly technological methods, we generate both environmental and social benefits. With projects such as the Rointe Forest we contribute to combating deforestation by planting from drones with our effective smart seeds, while collaborating with Galician associations to provide employment for people belonging to vulnerable groups.
Rointe, the leading company in electric heating and hot water, intends with this project to do its bit to mitigate the effects of global warming, helping to reduce its carbon footprint. Thanks to its “Register your product and collaborate with our forests” campaign, linked to this reforestation, customers who buy some of its appliances will be able to register their warranty and thus contribute to the fight against climate change.
